Waters Edge Restaurant
Your very own site restaurant and bar, just a short stroll from our lodges. The Waters Edge has a good range of beverages as well as excellent food. Open times for 2026 can be found by clicking her.

Longlands Inn and Restaurant
A fantastic pub/restaurant with great food, beer and wines. Better still, it is just a short walk from the lodges or a few minutes in the car. With the Lancaster Canal in close proxity, this is a great start/finish point or pit stop for many great walks.

Old School Brewery, Warton
An absolute gem of a find in the nearby village of Warton (10 mins drive away or about 40 mins on foot). Parking is available in the old quarry next to the pub. This is also a great start/finish point for a walk up Warton Crag.
The premises has its own micro brewery and sells a range of beers etc. It also has a ‘Canteen’ providing excellent food open from 12 noon until 6.30pm (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
There is regular live entertainment and (at the time of writing) a quiz night every Thursday commencing at 7.30pm.
The pork pies here are legendary!

The Royal Station Hotel, Carnforth
An excellent and popular pub/restaurant and hotel in the middle of Carnforth town centre, situated next to the railway station on Market Street.
The Royal Station prides itself on serving locally sourced high quality food. You can choose to dine in the Cocktail Lounge or in the Junction Bar.

The George Washington, Warton
A good old fashioned English village pub with a history. The pub has historical connections with George Washington, historical President of the USA.
A welcoming bar with a good range of drinks and food. Accomodation is also available.

The Royal Hotel, Bolton le Sands
The Royal Hotel is a must visit when in the area. It is just a few minutes drive from the site, situated on the A6 in Bolton le Sands (just passed Carnforth when heading south).
The pub is very popular with locals as well as holiday makers and provides a range of real ales as well as excellent food.
The bar is very large inside with plenty of seating for those wishing to eat and/or drink. Also, the hotel is completely dog friendly.
In addition, the Royal has an enormous outside area (the Beer Haven) which is in use all year round. Better still, the ‘Haven’ has its own direct access to the Lancaster Canal so can be used as a pit stop when walking in this picturesque area of North Lancashire. Archers Cafe, Red Bank Campsite, Bolton-le-Sands
An absolute must visit when you are in the area. It must be good as the ‘Hairy Bikers’ dropped in to say hello during their BBC ‘Hairy Bikers Go West’ series (Episode 3).
Archers Café is at the Red Bank Campsite which is set right on the coast providing spectacular views over Morecambe Bay.
It is just over a 10 minute drive from our lodges. Follow the A6 through Carnforth and then into Bolton-le-Sands. Before you reach Hest Bank, the turning to the camp site and café is clearly sign posted.
The café is open from 9.30am until 4.00pm, Tuesday to Sunday and serves excellent, homemade hot food and snacks. They also have delicious homemade cakes and scones, baked on site daily throughout the day.
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the café, but there is a dog friendly seating area outside.

The Canal Turn, Carnforth
The Canal Turn is a gem of a pub in Carnforth Centre by the side of the Lancaster Canal and just off the A6.
The Canal Turn offers a welcoming and authentic British pub experience, with an impressive range of classic beers and local cask ales. In addition to the excellent, home cooked food, the location is ideal to watch the passing wildlife and colourful barges.
The pub is also the suggested start/finish point for our ‘Carnforth to Bolton-le-Sands Circular’ walk.

Edelweiss Cafe, Carnforth
An excellent and very popular cafe hidden away in the centre of Carnforth. Everything served is home cooked or home baked. The menu includes a range of hot food and breakfasts as well as deserts, cakes and their outstanding scones.
The cafe is open from 8.30am to 3.00pm Tuesday/Wednesday/Thusday/Friday (closed weekends and Mondays).
The location is on Ashtrees Way, Carnforth LA5 9JX. Ashtrees Way is a pedestrian walkway that connects Market Street to the carpark of Booths Supermarket. It is best approached from the far end of Booths carpark (2 hours free parking), or from Market Street, opposite the Royal Station Hotel where the walkway leads adjacent to the war memorial and Boots the chemists.

Trungs Cantonese Restaurant, Bolton le Sands
Trung’s is an outstanding Cantonese/Chinese restaurant that is just 10 minutes drive from the site (opposite The Royal Hotel).
There is plenty of seating available in the restaurant for those wishing to dine in. Also, a full takeaway menu is available for collection.

Far Pavillion Tandoori Restaurant and Takeaway
The Far Pavillion is an excellent tandoori restaurant just a 10 minute drive from our lodges. In addition to a full range of tandoori and banquet meals, they also offer a takeaway service at discounted prices. The restaurant has plenty of seating and parking and is to be found just beyond the Royal Hotel in Bolton-le-Sands.
Please note that the restaurant does not serve alcoholic drinks, however they will be happy to provide glasses to drink from if you wish to take your own beverages.
